Every Holy Hour we make, so pleases the Heart of Jesus that is recorded in Heaven and retold for all eternity!
- Saint Teresa of Calcutta
Yes, truly. He promised to be with us through the end of time and He is present, body, soul and divinity in all the tabernacles of the Catholic Church. Our St. Joseph Adoration Chapel offers an intimate ambiance with your encounter with the Lord. You will come in close proximity to the Lord exposed in our chapel monstrance. There is room for multiple adorers and some adorers have taken an hour as a family hour of prayer.
He is there veiled from His true glory so we will not find His majesty intimidating. He comes humbly disguised as a consecrated host, so sinners that we are, may approach Him without trepidation and avail ourselves to His great unfathomable mercy. He is very much present to us as He was to the apostles when He walked the earth over two thousand years ago. What He did for others He will do for us, if we approach Him with faith. Holy Scripture is packed with stories of what He did for those who approached Him in sincere faith.
Spend an hour or more a week with the Lord. Use the time to contemplate the mystery of His Real Presence and how fortunate we are to come in such close proximity to Him. Petition Him to guide you in your life decisions, speak to Him about your concerns. Thank Him for the blessings in your life. Some blessings are disguised as hardships in our lives. Only when we sit and contemplate with the Lord can we even appreciate the hardships we go through.
We have an eclectic collection of reading materials in the chapel to introduce your intellect to the spiritual reality of God and how He operates. Download the Confession Guide Examination of Conscience to jump start your contemplative time with Him. Maintain a prayer journal and you will see how He responds in unprecedented ways in your life and you will learn that all the good lucks you have experienced were really His explicit interventions in your life.

"Since 2002, St. Mary Anacortes was blessed to have a beautiful Adoration chapel for Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the St. Peter Julian Eymard Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to cease Perpetual Adoration in March of 2020. We have since received permission from Archbishop Etienne to transform our current parish library in Room 1 of the Fr. Auer Center into a new and larger Adoration Chapel. The new chapel will accommodate families and prayer groups while allowing additional space for disability access, as well as better restroom access. It will include updated security and ventilation, which is needed in this unique Covid-time we are living in. This campaign began in earnest in Advent of December 2020. While the new worship space is not complete, we’ve come a long way thanks to the help of many hardworking volunteers, especially the Library Team, the Adoration Team and the Knights of Columbus and parish staff."
